THE LEGAL SHIELD: Protecting Your Home Care Business From Liabilities
Maria Fleming is a Senior Associate Attorney with Napoli Shkolnik PLLC. Born and raised in Cleveland, OH, she attended school in Northeast Ohio and began her legal career attending John Carroll University and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Ms. Fleming has persevered in the face of adversity and life’s tough challenges to complete her legal studies as a sing mother who successfully found the balance between working full-time, studying, and raising a child, while simultaneously being determined not to quit or postponer her educational or career goals.
As a young lawyer, Ms. Fleming considers it an honor a privilege to tackle cases that are important to this country. Having worked on three national landmark trials has afforded her the opportunity to put her passion of justice to action. Opioids are raving our country and being part of the change to stop the deadly impact they have on society has been extremely rewarding. She is incredibly proud to have been part of the opioid litigation and the continuous work being done to better improve communities. Ms. Fleming’s practice area includes personal injury complex litigation cases, where she has handled opioid litigations representing Lake and Trumbull Counties. She is also involved in product liability cases and currently sits on the leadership committee in the Re: Hair Relaxer Marketing Sales Practice and Products Liability Litigation (MDL No. 3060) by United States District Court Judge Mary M. Rowland for the Northern District of Illinois Eastern Division. This appointment allows for Ms. Fleming to represent and advocate on behalf of African American women who have been diagnosed with Uterine, Ovarian and/or Endometrial Cancer from the use of hair relaxer products.
In her spare time, Ms. Fleming enjoys traveling, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and singing where she currently serves as the praise and worship leader for her local church.
